The White-Tailed Deer Module was created to help teach youth about wildlife in Texas and the economic importance of natural resources in general. This excellent, educational module was developed by Extension experts in wildlife and communications. It was designed to be "hands on" for youth and be easy to implement for teachers. \
Components of the entire program include:
- a free standing 8 foot by 10 foot display (pictured at the bottom of the page)
- a mounted white-tailed deer's head
- antlers from deer of different ages to show antler development
- bone tools mounted on buckskin to show how native Americans used white-tailed deer
- a poster that displays important food plants for deer
- large color photographs of deer, with explanatory text
- a set of 13 lesson plans with classroom activities and teaching materials
- a 15-minute video about the life of the White-Tailed Deer
